Just a few miles from Monterrey, this area is easy to access and is known to many as the 17 mile drive, as it is one of the most beautiful, scenic drives in the world and a coastal landmark to everyone across the globe with breath-taking, panoramic views of the pacific coast and the Del Monte forest. With landmarks steeped with history and legend along the way, this can easily be a destination you could stretch your visit over a long weekend.
The fastest route from San Francisco takes just 2 hours and 40 minutes inclusive of the toll roads, making it an easy destination drive after you finish work on a Friday. If you join the US-101 South and head towards Santa Cruz, leave at exit 1B from CA-17B and follow the CA-1S to Monterey County. Take exit 399A and then drive towards the 17 mile drive in Del Monte Forest.
To get to Pebble Beach via public transport, you will need to make your way to the International Airport in San Francisco by train from the Civic Centre. At the airport, buses leave every two hours to Monterrey, where you will need to jump in a ten minute taxi to your destination in Pebble Beach. From door to door, this will take around 3.5 – 4 hours.
